Horse Racing Body Cuts Prize Money

The projects on which work started will be finished, but new developments will not be approved. Horse Racing Ireland announced cost cuts, in response to the weak economy and a reduction in funding for the industry announced in Budget. There are also restrictions on new developments racetrack. For 2009, the prize money is reduced by 7% to 56. Grants to organizations supported by HRI will be frozen, while there will also be a pay freeze for HRI staff. 5m.
